Grateful Living was founded by the Benedictine monk Br. David Steindl-Rast, a pioneer of interfaith dialogue. Through his time with spiritual leaders like Thich Nhat Hanh, H.H. the Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu, Thomas Merton, Roshi Joan Halifax, Swami Satchidananda and others, he discovered gratefulness as the common thread in all religion. Grateful Living is the outcome of more than 50 years of scholarship and action, and continues Br. David's spiritual innovation.
