Reclaiming the Indigenous Soul

Spiritual innovation, to me, is the practice of recreating our relationship with our ancestry and our shared divinity, particularly during times of political upheaval.

“Spiritual innovation” sounds very American. I have proposed the term "new spirituality" to refer to new spiritual movements and culture.

For me, spiritual innovation is building on a practice or a belief that comes from an historic religious tradition and modifying its application in a way that is consistent with current sociological realities.
