Episcopal deacon building community through musical improv as a spiritual practice
I am passionate about cultivating community through engagement with the arts and improvisation. One of the ways I do this is leading musical/theatrical improv and spirituality retreats. The retreats aim to build communal relationships as participants discover how play can be a spiritual practice. The retreats can be geared to be either interfaith or specifically Christian. I am currently a deacon, soon to be priest, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Houston, TX. Before pursuing ordination in the Episcopal Church, I worked as a musician and teaching artist. I have an M.Div. and an S.T.M. from Yale Divinity School, and an MA in Teaching and a BA in Theatre from Trinity University. I would love to connect with and learn from other spiritual innovators. Feel free to reach out!
