Designing contemplative leadership practices helping educators lead more authentically and impactfully.

I work joyfully at the intersection of education, leadership, and spirituality. Drawing deeply from my Bahá’í, Quaker, and social justice backgrounds, I design and facilitate reflective leadership programs and practices for educators. I also work with schools around strategic planning and group dynamics, and I mentor senior leaders. The questions I’m most drawn to revolve around the inner work of leadership. Inspired by  Parker Palmer’s wisdom, I believe leaders of mission-driven organizations “lead from who we are” – but need time, space, curiosity, courage, and community to understand ourselves more fully. When we connect the knowledge of our inner self with our outer gifts and skills, we walk through the world more whole, more authentic, more generous, and thus more impactful. As an Asian-American woman born in Malaysia, a 20-year Quaker educator, an author, a student of social justice at Union Theological Seminary in New York City, and a partner and design-thinker at Leadership+Design, I bring multiple perspectives to this work, and I am eager to connect with and learn from the journeys of others.
