Seeker of placed-based spiritual questions
Jeffrey Tiell is a Program Officer at the Irving Harris Foundation focused on the grantmaking for the Jewish Values portfolio. Prior to his current role, Jeff has served in a variety of philanthropic, community building and bridging roles at the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, the Jim Joseph Foundation, Fund for Shared Insight, CoGenerate (formerly Encore.org), Oakland Unified Schools in Oakland, California, the Center for the Study of Social Policy, and the Harwood Institute for Public Innovation.
Jeff also participated in the Council on Foundations Bridging Differences Leadership Cohort, Rockwood Leadership Institute, with American Jewish World Service Global Justice Fellowship and held a Jeremiah Fellowship through Bend the Arc. He received his B.A. degree from Brown University and Master’s degree in City Planning with an emphasis on Community and Economic Development from the University of Pennsylvania. He has a Ph.D. ABD in Community Planning from the University of Maryland.
Jeff cares deeply about how people, their families and friends, and their institutions imagine, create and catalyze what it means to belong in our country and world today.
