Scholar, Wisdom Keeper, Story Worker & New Futures Designer
Dr. Velma E. Love is a scholar, wisdom keeper, storyteller, and spiritual innovator working at the intersection of African ancestral wisdom, consciousness, cultural memory, and regenerative world-making.
She is the founder of ASUWA Studio—Awakening the Spiritual Wisdom of Africa—a teaching and learning space devoted to bringing African wisdom traditions into conversation with the questions of contemporary life. Drawing particularly upon Dagara cosmology and the Medicine Wheel, Africentric approaches to consciousness and cultural memory, and the wisdom carried through story, ritual, and ancestral practice, her work explores how ancient ways of knowing can become living resources for human flourishing and the creation of more life-giving futures.
Her current work, Designing New Worlds, explores African wisdom traditions as technologies of creation: ways of remembering who we are, restoring right relationship, cultivating imagination, and designing regenerative futures.
This focus is woven throughout her scholarship, teaching, storytelling, and spiritual practice.
