
Intermystic wisdom keeper, innovator, healer, and co-creator with the Beloved Unseen
Brenda is the Founder of Nepantla Center for Healing and Renewal and is in the process of establishing the Nepantla Land Trust. She is a spiritual innovator, a mindfulness author, indigenous wisdom keeper, healer, trainer and organizational consultant. She has over 25 years of experience in transformative leadership development, organizing and movement building, nonprofit management, traditional healing and ceremony, mindfulness, movement building, women’s health, and social justice. She holds degrees in Biology, Developmental Psychology, and Animal Behavior. Brenda has received training in traditional medicine and healing in Purepecha, Xochimilco, Toltec and other lineages, Brenda draws on the healing powers of the natural world to guide her work. She is grateful to her Ancestors, and she is committed to co-creating a society filled with wholeness and beauty.
She currently serves on the Advisory Board for The Charis Foundation for New Monasticism & InterSpirituality. Brenda is author of Real World Mindfulness for Beginners: Navigate Daily Life One Practice at a Time.
In the past, she has served as the Director of the East Bay Meditation Center, as Director of Racial Healing Initiative, as Associate Director at Wisdom & Money, and as a Senior Fellow at the Movement Strategy Center. She has also served on the Healers Council for Decolonizing Wealth Project, a BIPOC Spiritual Innovator Advisor for Fetzer Institute's Shared Spiritual Heritage Project, and on the boards of Movement Strategy Center and Lion’s Roar Foundation.
